Matt Stocks

Originally from England, I moved to New Zealand in 1988.  I completed all of my accounting studies in New Zealand and became a fully qualified Chartered Accountant in 1998.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my wife and two young children.  I have a keen interest in endurance events such as marathons and triathlons.  I completed in my first Ironman in March 2014 at Taupo and am carefully considering my next challenge!

I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from the various places that I have worked at including the Inland Revenue Department, Ernst & Young and other smaller Chartered Accounting firms.  This knowledge and experience is essential in carrying out my role as a Chartered Accountant.

During the time that I was employed as a Chartered Accountant, I have seen a common trend where clients are becoming more and more sensitive to fee increases.  My belief is that a very good service can be provided where clients receive reliable advice and simple yet effective structures are put in place that best meets their needs.  All this can be done with an agreed fixed fee and where clients are encouraged to keep in contact with their accountant without the fear of being charged a fee for raising a simple query.

I am thoroughly enjoying running my own Chartered Accountancy practice.  Being directly involved in helping clients with their investments and businesses is very rewarding and satisfying.
